Joe Kent-Walters

Joe Kent-Walters is a multi-award winning comedian and actor from Huddersfield. He has been delighting audiences up and down the country with his idiosyncratic style of outrageous character comedy, most notably with his comic creation Frankie Monroe.

His ‘mesmerising and unpredictable presence’ (Chortle) performing as Frankie saw him win the 2023 BBC New Comedy Award after a ‘barn storming’ (Ibid) set at Glasgow’s Kings Theatre Joe is now in development with the BBC and is one of Jiksaw’s 2024 ‘Faces of Comedy.’

Joe’s debut solo show (as yet untitled) has already played to sell out crowds in London, Leeds, Manchester and Hull where the crowd ‘deservedly gave the act a standing ovation’ (RichComicLife Blog). The show is due to play at comedy festivals across the country including Leicester, Machynlleth, Hastings and Glasgow where it has been included in the Skinny’s ‘Five under the radar pick’ for the festival.

Prior to his BBC success Joe won the 2021 Chortle Student Comedy Award which saw him play the main comedy stage at Latitude festival and tour Australia, performing at the Sydney Comedy Store.

Joe’s double act The Lovely Boys have also been causing a splash in the UK alternative scene. Their eponymous 2022 debut show recieved critical acclaim and cult status with The Scotsman praising them for their ‘Tremendous knockabout chemistry’. They now run a regular ‘& friends’ gig at Hackney’s Moth Club with Knock2Bag.

ania magliano

Ania is a comedian based in London. She’s a triple threat (bisexual, Gen Z, bad at cooking). Her sharp, wry writing combined with her warm conversational performance style make her a ‘glittering new talent’ (the i Paper) of the UK comedy scene.

Her 2023 stand up show, I Can’t Believe You’ve Done This, was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show, and sold out its entire Fringe run before the festival began. It received multiple 4 and 5 star reviews, with the Scotsman calling it a ‘beautifully structured show’ and Ania a ‘truly original voice with an impressive set of skills’. The show was included in British Comedy Guide’s ‘Best Reviewed Edinburgh Fringe Shows 2023’ list and was the Number 1 pick in Time Out’s ‘The 11 best comedy shows at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2023’.
