Who Owns The Snow + guests

A saturnalia of three-part harmony from new trio WHO OWNS THE SNOW, featuring up-and-coming singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Loretta Rest and her veteran musician-songwriter parents, Rosie Brown and Bernd Rest.

In the run-up to the vinyl release of a double album “best of” compilation (marking 25 years since the release of By The Blue, the first of their critically acclaimed albums) Rosie and Bernd are delighted to be working with Loretta and to be launching the debut album by WHO OWNS THE SNOW.
This is a rare opportunity to see the trio before Loretta leaves Brighton for the sunny climes of Manchester to study cello.
Loretta Rest – voice, cello, guitar, baritone guitar, keyboards

Bernd Rest – voice, guitar, baritone guitar

Rosie Brown – voice, keyboards
Plus a feast of brilliance with guest appearances from musicians from the album:
Elliot Vickers – drums

Jimmy Count – drums

Joe Snelling – double bass

Kaya de Sousa – alto flute
“Superior musical minds following their hearts… This is the real McCoy” ★★★★ Mojo
“Ethereal… entrancing” The Independent
“Elemental, sensual… conjures something evocative of Les Paul backed by Goldfrapp” ★★★★Q Magazine

What people are saying...

What a superb venue. I have been several times. Always a warm welcome and a safe space to enjoy the artists that are more “left field” than other more mainstream venues.

Cracking little venue, intimate, great acoustics, friendly staff, middle of town, nice beer selection, fair prices. What more could you want?

Great place to see bands. Not too big . Not too small. Excellent views plus TV screens in all areas. Disabled parking in the street behind. Good eateries locally after gig.

Komedia continues to have club nights that suit all ages. It is a brighton institution that should be revered.

Great intimate live music venue. Not your usual gig beers, good selection of Lager, Cider and Ale.

I wanted to say a massive thank you for hosting my son and I in the Studio. I was so impressed by the kindness, efficiency, and professionalism of all the team at Komedia. Everything was perfect – the sound, the room, and all of the staff.

It was honestly the best concert experience I’ve had in a long time! Since being chronically ill, I’ve never felt completely welcome at venues. […] Komedia made me feel completely comfortable and confident in myself during the whole show! […] Although I traveled from London, I will most definitely be returning when I can, choosing it over London venues!

Lovely, intimate venue. Great sound system. Perfect for small concerts.
