Luke Wright: JOY!

Following the smash hit success of his Silver Jubilee show (‘the best thing he’s done and that’s saying something.’ ★★★★★ Telegraph) Luke Wright returns with a new set poems that get to grips with the idea of JOY. Is it possible, as a 42 year old to feel pure unbridled happiness, and what does it look like?

The French novelist Henry de Montherlant said that “happiness writes white” but Wright’s not exactly starting with a blank page. With a mix of the of the comic and the wistful, JOY takes in consumerism, boozing, cancer scares, abseiling vicars, and the joy of language itself. We might have to go down to come up, but we’ll get there in the end. Come let a little joy into your life with a raconteur and wordsmith at the top of his game.

‘Breathtaking … with a sharpness and wisdom that lifts the soul, and soothes the battered heart.’ ★★★★ The Scotsman

‘A winning combination of honesty, humour, ire and wonder. He is at the peak of his powers.’ ★★★★★ The Stage

‘Britain’s finest performance poet.’ ★★★★★ Life As Theatre

Amazing experience with the Komedia staff. They have gone above and beyond to cater for my disabilities at a show on June 5th, making sure I am seated correctly and can easily access the area. Very rare experience nowadays. Thank you again for all your help!

Just the best place if you like comedy. The food is great, the show room cozy and personable. Excellent atmosphere every time. An amazing place to watch a live show. Highly recommended!

Always something interesting happening at Komedia. Probably the venue I find myself at most frequently due to the eclectic mix of acts, comedy, music, club nights, cabaret and random silliness! Feels like the heart of Brighton!

I had not been to this venue before and I have to say that I was very impressed… All the staff I encountered were friendly, helpful and cheerful. I will certainly return!!

This venue’s accessibility information on their website is outstanding. As an autistic wheelchair user it was so amazing to be able to see the layout/3D view of the whole venue… If more venues followed Komedia’s example the world would be a much better place!

We came here on the night of Brighton pride and had an amazing time. Lovely, clean venue with really friendly staff and saw it was clearly accessible.

Such a unique place you have such variety, they are really good at accommodating for the disabled. I loved the drag on a bus, 80’s night and more!! I keep coming back so they are doing something right.

I am happy to say that the customer service replied to my enquiry very quickly. They also have been very helpful and understanding.

Great show with great drinks and food – a fab Friday night, 100% recommend!

Always a fantastic night out! So great to be introduced to new comics with many many laughs throughout the evening

so much fun, comedy night was a right laugh, good drinks and food, fair prices

First time at a stand up comedy club and wasn’t sure what to expect. Whole thing was brilliant – friendly staff, good atmosphere, and the acts were hilarious. Laughed so much.Highly recommend.
