Independent Venue Week Finale:
Little Thief, Port Erin, Sergeant Thunderhoof & Meeking
The ultimate celebration of Bath’s live music scene, featuring 4 of the city’s most-loved bands.
Little Thief are a rock outfit thrashing out upbeat, heavyweight, dip your toes in and call for mummy, sex fuelled, hot & sticky, wet mess magic….
Sounds similar to The Black Keys, Electric Six, The Hives and Queens of The Stone Age to name a few. These guys have an upbeat, energetic live show that will shake the clothes from your back and give your heart that extra beat we all deserve. Following the release of “Freak”, Little Thief have been busy on tour and in the studio recording their debut EP which will be released in Spring 2019.
Garnering near-cult status as purveyors of original genre-bending music, Port Erin are a band of three. Two brothers- Reuben Myles Tyghe, vocals and guitar, flanked by Jacob Myles Tyghe on bass and Cerys Brocklehurst on drums. They hail from Broughton Gifford (a very small village tucked away in South West England) and formed in January 2007.
Formed in late 2013, Bath (UK) based rock outfit Sergeant Thunderhoof initially started as an excuse for old friends to get together once in a while and jam some tasty licks. It soon became apparent that a collective sound was emerging and so it was decided that they would go into the studio and do some recording. The result of which was ‘Zigurat’, a killer 5 track EP, stretching over 40 psychedelic doom drenched minutes.
Soaring vocals sit above a power-house trio dishing out alt-rock with nods to Jeff Buckley, John Mayer, Eddie Vedder and Incubus.
‘One thing that’s obvious from the album’s sound is that the band sounds tight, even from the first songs. Everything feels crisp, deliberate, and precise. This album, among many other perks, is thoughtfully designed.’ – Stephen Koster, Independent Music News
