An Official Independent Venue Week Event:
Littlemen + support by Port Erin, Pleasures of the Damned, Terry Sheppard and Sky 2 Fox
Applauded and admired for many years in his proven arenas of songwriter, manager, studio owner and conceptual thinker, NICK ALLEN finally yields to popular demand and takes centre stage in his own right!
Although there has been a previous ensemble known as LITTLEMEN which released singles, a much-lauded album (“LONG ROAD HOME”), garnering radio play and reviews for these collections as well as their all-too infrequent live outings, THIS incarnation represents NICK ALLEN’S long anticipated flowering as a performer!
A secret no longer!
Nick is joined on this adventure by the Grammy award winner and rhythm consultant Robert Brian. Robs drumming career trajectory has included lending his talents to Siouxsie Sioux, Goldfrapp, Miles Kane, Peter Gabriel & Simple Minds. Besides more recently recording and circling the globe with Canadian artist Loreena McKennitt.
Multi-instrumentalist and sound guru MARK GRIFFIN steer’s the sonic ship on guitar, bobbing and weaving alongside ROB to ensure that the groove never wavers!
GUY TOWNLEY is another venerated multi-instrumentalist, as talented as he is popular. Holding the lead guitar chair in this LITTLEMEN
Bass guitar duties are how TYLER SPICER has made his reputation. In LITTLEMEN, it’s plain to see how great song crafting is only improved by a dexterous rhythm section…. something we can all enjoy!
Purveyors of original genre-bending music, Port Erin are a band of three made of two brothers–– Reuben Myles Tyghe, vocals and guitar, flanked by Jacob Myles Tyghe on bass and Cerys Brocklehurst on drums. Now residing and writing in the city of Bath, they hail from Broughton Gifford (a very small Wiltshire village tucked away in South West England) where they formed in January 2007.
Port Erin have extensively toured the U.K. performing over 1000 shows at some of the U.K.’s most prestigious venues. They have made appearances at many UK & EU festivals including; Glastonbury Festival (‘10, ‘11, ‘13 & ’14, ‘17, ‘19), played live sessions for BBC Introducing and their music has been aired numerous times on BBC Radio 6 (Guy Garvey & Tom Robinson). Since their formation, they have diligently been affirming themselves as one of the UK’s hardest working, most loved, unsung, underground DIY bands.
They have self-released (distributed by Burning Shed) 3 EPs and 4 LPs. 2017’s fourth album, Ocean Grey, earned them little radio play or Spotify playlist placements, though generated their best clutch of reviews from major UK press yet.
Pleasures of the Damned
Melodic punk pop from Pleasures of The Damned. The Pleasures’ music doesn’t sit still, shifting from unabashed indie rock to soulful ballad and anywhere else that takes their fancy. With punchy vocals, edgy pace changes, innovative melodies and a defiant performance they challenge and reward in equal measure.
