From 60s jangle, garage and pop (Byrds, Stones, Velvets, MC5, Beatles, Stooges, Kinks, Left Banke) to 80s indie and shoegaze (Smiths, Fall, Cure, REM, My Bloody Valentine, Happy Mondays) via alternative 70s (Bowie, Can, Sly Stone, Big
Star), What Goes On is a throwback to a classic club night from a time when There She Goes jangled alongside Eight Miles High, sleeves dangled on the dancefloor to This Charming Man, Primal Scream were still all bowl haircuts and polka dots, and Blur had just released their debut single.
Five hours of the best of 65-90 indie club sounds (with the occasional rule-breaking foray to 91/92), with stuff you just don’t hear out and about anymore, like The Wedding Present, The House of Love, Felt, Pale Saints. Ride, Cocteau Twins and Julian Cope. And no Britpop!
